Creation Entertainment Auctions is committed to respecting the privacy rights of all visitors to our Web site. The following policy describes how Creation Entertainment seeks to assure its visitors, and the parents of children visiting the site, how it protects information it receives from visitors to the Web site:
Registering a customer account on this site and placing a bid on an auction item or item for sale constitutes a contractrual agreement between you, the bidder, and Creation Entertainment, the seller. When you place a bid, you are agreeing to follow through with the terms of the auction should you become the winning bidder.
How our Auctions Work
The majority of our auctions on this site are in Dutch Auction format. There are varying ways Dutch Auctions can work, and the following scenario will illustrate how we run our Dutch Auctions on this site.
Multiple items offered with top bidders as winners
Example: Let's say we offer 5 tickets for a celebrity meet & greet event in a single Dutch Auction. The bidding starts at a minimum bid amount of $125. Interested bidders submit bids for the available tickets at $125 or higher. When all 5 tickets have been bid upon, the bidders who submitted the highest bids will be the leading bidders for the auction. Here's a scenario:
Bidder #1 wants two of the tickets and set their highest bid at $300 for each of the tickets.
Bidder #2 wants two of the tickets and set their highest bid at $250 for each of the tickets.
Bidder #3 wants two of the tickets and set their highest bid at $150 for each of the tickets.
You can see from the above scenario that three bidders have bids in for six tickets, but there are only five tickets available. What will happen when the auction closes?
Since Bidder #3's maximum bid was $150, that will be the highest bid achieved when this auction closes. But, because Bidder #1 was willing to bid up to $300 for each of the tickets, that bidder has top priority and will be awarded two tickets at $150 each. Bidder #2 is second in line because their maximum bid was $250 for each of the tickets, but will only pay $150 for each of two tickets. So, four tickets have been awarded in this auction, but only one ticket remains. That ticket will go to bidder #3 at $150. But wait, Bidder #3 wanted two tickets but only won one of the tickets?!? Yes, that's correct and that's the takeaway for Dutch Auctions. It's important to place your bid carefully if there is competition for limited items in a Dutch Auction. In this scenario, Bidder #3 wanted two of the tickets, but because their bid was the lowest, they only won one of the tickets.
Our auction system allows you to place a maximum bid which you can’t increase along the way or it will show up as two separate bids. You must wait to re-bid only when you have been knocked off the high bidder list. We recommend placing one bid for the maximum amount you're willing to pay for the Dutch Auction item(s). The maximum amount everyone bids is a secret. The amount you see next to other bidders names is what the bid is at currently for everyone in the auction. You can tell where you place on the list from the highest high bidder at the top, down to the lowest high bidder at the bottom. The person at the bottom is the most likely to get knocked off the list, or perhaps win less items than they originally wanted.
Which brings us to the last important point about how Creation Entertainment Dutch Auctions work...
If you are a successful bidder and win at an auction's close, you are obligated to complete the contract you agreed to upon submitting a bid and pay for the item(s) you win, even if you don't win as many items as you wanted.
